Scary daffodil terrorises Border Collie dog

Monty always walks on the inside when on his lead, and doesn't really look where he's going. He's always too intent on getting ahead to sniff out the messages left for him by the neighbourhood dogs. So anything that sticks out from the wall or the fence that he's following startles him. This morning he jumped a mile high in absolute terror when he was attacked by the daffodil he wasn't expecting.
